FAQ

  • Bondhu is a food experience business that brings thoughtful design, global perspectives, learning and love to your plate. Our offerings include:

    • a Supper Club feat. multi-course, narrative-driven meal out of our community space. Expect a dinner party rather than a restaurant!

    • cooking classes

    • custom dinners, classes, and events

    • a historic and funky venue, ideal for small/medium gatherings, parties, reunions, small weddings, etc.

    • a pop-up spot

  • We believe that variety, flexibility and change are important parts of both eating and cooking. We are not a restaurant where you come in and order what you want. Rather, we have a multi-course fixed price menu that will only be revealed to you at the dinner itself!

Bondhu meals intend to tell you a story when you walk into “Bondhu Basha” - our home and culinary community space. Each menu is entirely unique in composition, cookery and purpose.

  • We offer a variety of novel and familiar foods throughout our multi-course meals to ensure there is something delicious, thought-provoking and educational for everyone. Our dinners are most enjoyed by guests who appreciate the historical, cultural qualities of food even if they are new and unusual flavors.

  • Hours of culinary and historical research, recipe writing and testing go into each menu, all centered around the goal of creating a thoughtful, delicious, discussion-provoking meal.

Bondhu’s style is globally inclusive and a playful hybrid of home cooking and finer dining.

Rice platters, unique vegetable soups, funky sauces, playful salads, curries and slow cooked stews all make frequent appearances.

Please come join us for dinner! Try something new, start up a conversation and walk away as a new friend of Bondhu.

  • Bondhu Supper Club events and scheduled cooking classes are less flexible with requests, as they intend to tell a particular story to guests. If you have allergens or strong preferences, please indicate these in your form during checkout and the Bondhu team will confirm if/how we can accommodate your request.

Custom Bondhu Dinners and cooking classes are a bit more flexible. Request a quote for our custom events and let us know what you have in mind; if it’s feasible and aligned with Bondhu’s style and schedule, we will get in touch with you.

  • Bondhu means “friend” in the Bengali language. This is a space for friends. New and old, ours and yours. We believe in the power of food to deepen friendships with everyone through shared food experiences - including with strangers, and even with people you might see every day! This house (“basha”) is the space for you to break bread with new and old friends.

  • Yes! We are accepting reservations for Summer 2024 onward. Bondhu is ideal for the couple seeking a homey, funky and historic experience all at once!
